Childhood: Raúl Pini grew up in Fray Bentos, along with his three brothers, in a humble family and always after learning to take the first steps he walked behind a ball so it was simply paper, rag, rubber or as a rare leather fact . Along with the school years that went by, football always prevailed in him and his brothers. The Pini became soccer players, and the neighborhood team that is much stronger today began to act in Laureles. Its figure grew in a way that seemed impregnable and many say it was one of the best backs ever seen. in our country next to the great "Marshal" José Nasazzi and the Brazilian Domingos Da Guía. Raúl Pini was an excellent soccer player. Those who saw him play, teammates and rivals agree that he was as skilled as the best striker and that he had strength (in the best sense of the word) as the best defense. Good football and treated the ball with great delicacy, with great skill and dexterity. All these characteristics served to earn everyone's respect and admiration. With Nacional he played more than 300 games and won 4 Uruguayan championships. He also played in the Millionaires FC at the time of the " Colombian gold ", integrating the famous squad called "the Blue Ballet". That team was also called the" Globbe Trotters of football. " , Pedernera and Maurín all Argentines ". We went on tour, Pini said, and we beat almost everyone, they just tied us, it was the selection of Sweden. At Real Madrid in the famous stadium of" Chamartín "we made no less than 4 goals. We had fun and we made the ball run, giving the "gringos" every barbaric dance, movie. We were suckling and going like crazy. It was a potato to face them. The difference in our favor was too much. "If Raúl Pini had stayed playing in Nacional, he could have started in the 1950 World Cupsince his teammates in the defense of Nacional Schubert Gambetta and Eusebio Tejera were starters in the Maracanazo . He finished his career at the Peruvian Sporting Cristal between 1956 and 1959, where he became champion in 1956, the year where the Rimac beer team had his first participation in tournaments in his country.
