Walter Daniel Olivera Prada , better known simply as Olivera ( Montevideo , January 16 , 1953 ) was a footballer who served as a defender and a former Uruguayan coach . In his entire career, he played in only two teams: Peñarol and Atlético Mineiro .Olivera started his football at Peñarol in 1973. Owner of a sheriff style and a born leader on the field, he wore the aurinegra shirt for 11 years, being captain for eight years. For the Uruguayan team, Oliveira won eight titles, six Uruguayan championships, one Libertadores Cup and one Intercontinental World Cup .This leadership led him to join the Uruguayan team at a young age . The first came in 1973 with only 20 years and won the Copa America in 1983 , a team filled with superstars like Alzamendi , Francescoli , Aguilera , Fernando Morena and fellow Peñarol Mario Saralegui . Brazil In 1983, Olivera arrived at Clube Atlético Mineiro to form a team with Luisinho , with the confidence of President Elias Kalil and reinforcing the good acceptance of Uruguayans in the Alvinegro team, thanks to the excellent passages of the lateral Cincunegui and goalkeeper Mazurkiewicz in the 1970s for Galo. Owner of a determined football, Olivera was often interpreted as a "tough" player. Leader in the field, Olivera soon won the crowd alvinegra. Due to chronic low back pain, Olivera ended her career in 1985 at Atlético, with only 32 years old. His last game was in the friendly against Roma , which ended 4 x 4. He returned to Uruguay and soon returned to Brazil, hired by the Atleticana Board as coach of the Rooster. Interestingly, in the 1985 state title campaign, he participated as a player and coach.
