The Cup Tie Competition 1901 (also called the " Chevallier Boutell " 1901 Competition Cup ) was the second edition of this official and international competition, organized by the Argentine Football Association . The Cup that was at stake was donated by the president of the Argentine Football Association, Francis Chevallier Boutell , and that is why it bore his name. The final of the tournament was played in the Province of Buenos Aires , while the semifinals were held in Montevideo and Rosario . Nine were the participants of this edition, surpassing the seven of the first tournament. Montevideo Cricket and Nacional , both from Uruguay , were added to this Cup .
