Raul de la Cruz Chaparro ( 3 of maypole of 1953 , Formosa , Argentina ) is a former soccer player of nationality Argentina who worked in the position of center forward . He was international with the Argentine soccer team . Elegant, skillful and intelligent driver, with precise short touches and showy game, in addition to an excellent quota of definition, he also scored goals from the head despite his short stature. He made the inferiors in San Lorenzo de Almagro , where he made his debut in 1971 and stayed until 1974 playing 11 games and scoring one goal. In 1973 the club soothes him on loan for one year to Gimnasia de Jujuy . He played 12 games and scored 3 goals. In 1975 he came to Tigre , a club where he had his best career, until 1977. He made his debut against Talleres RE and scored his first goal in the 3 to 1 victory against Deportivo Morón . That year he was the scorer for Tigre and the championship with 23 goals. In the Victoria club he played 137 games and scored 61 goals. He then went on to Chacarita Juniors in 1977 where he played 5 games and scored no goals. In 1978 he went to San Martín de Tucumán until 1980 where he played 46 games and scored 37 goals. Then he went to Instituto de Córdoba in 1980 to 1982 playing 64 games and scoring 37 goals. In 1982 he went to River Plate until 1983 playing 39 games and scoring 10 goals. Raúl Chaparro in Rosario Central . In 1983 he went to Rosario Central until 1985 playing 73 games and scoring 29 goals. Then he joined Belgrano de Córdoba where he spent a full season. He played 26 games and scored 25 goals. In 1986 he went to Racing de Córdoba until 1988 playing 73 games and scoring 16 goals. Then he came to Colón to play the 1988-89 season for Nacional B , playing 47 games and scoring 12 goals. Finally he said goodbye to professional football playing in Primera B with Defensores de Belgrano , in the 1989-90 season , playing a total of 25 games and scoring 6 goals. Argentina selection In addition, he was international with the Argentine soccer team , in a 0-0 draw against Czechoslovakia . He entered the second half replacing José Daniel Valencia . That day he shared a team with Diego Armando Maradona . For the renowned magazine El Grafico he was the best player on the field with 7 points. He received from César Luis Menotti himself a compliment that caused a stir in the disparate journalistic media: "If Chaparro were six inches taller, he would be better than Maradona.
