Walter René Fernandez ( 14 of July of 1960 , Santa Fe , Argentina ), former player football. He made his debut in Rosario Central in 1979 then he performed in Argentinos Juniors , Huracán de Chabás (Santa Fe) , Atlético Ledesma ( Jujuy ), Defensores de Belgrano , Racing Club , Cruz Azul ( Mexico ), Neuchatel Xamax (Switzerland) and Universidad de Chile . He was a lopsided left wing with skill and power; He also had a great punch that allowed him to send lethal centers that were used by his attack partners. He made his debut in First in Rosario Central in 1979 and arrived at Argentinos Jrs. in 1981 but the following year he did not join the squad that Nacional played that year. During the break for the World Cup in Spain, he decided to leave the club and sign for Huracán de Chabás , and a few months later he moved to Club Atlético Ledesma de Jujuy . In 1983 he ended up at Defensores de Belgrano, who played the First "B" where he played 65 games and scored 27 goals until 1984, being a figure in the team. Later, in 1985, he came to Racing as a reinforcement when he was in the second division to try to achieve promotion. There he had his best football stage since it was very important to achieve the long-awaited return to the First Division, contributing overflows, centers, assists and goals (two of them in the first final against Atlanta ). In the 1988 South American Super Cup , he was the team's top scorer with 3 goals: two against River in the first semifinal and another in the final, in the first leg against Cruzeiro ( Brazil ). Between 1989 and 1991 he played in Mexico for Cruz Azul . He had a brief stint in Swiss football and returned to South America, this time to play at the University of Chile in 1991 where he had a regular performance playing 24 games and scoring 4 goals.
