Eduardo Miguel Solari ( Rosario , Santa Fe Province , Argentina , October 12 , 1950 ) is an Argentine former soccer player and technical director who served as a containment midfielder . He made his professional debut in the Club Atlético Rosario Central , a team with which he won 2 First Division championships in Argentina , in 1971 and 1973. His performance in the rogue club allowed him to join the Argentine soccer team in 1975 . Between his stages as a player and as a coach, he also developed as a physical trainer in the Atlas de Guadalajara , Junior de Barranquilla and Newell's Old Boys de Rosario . He is the father of soccer players Santiago Solari , Esteban Solari , David Solari , the accountant Martín Solari and the model Liz Solari and younger brother of Indio Jorge Solari , with whom he founded in 1975 (together with Luis Artime and the brothers Ermindo and Daniel Onega ) the Renato Cesarini Club; one of the most important in Argentina at an amateur level, a trainer of great figures such as Fabián Cubero , Roberto Sensini , Andrés Guglielminpietro , Santiago Solari , Javier Mascherano , and Martín Demichelis , among many others.
