Carlos Julio Bustos (born April 16, 1966) is a retired Argentine footballer and current head coach. As a footballer he played as a central defender having more activity in his native country, playing for important team such as Club Atlético Talleres, Deportivo Español, Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro, Club Atlético River Plate, Asociación Atlética Argentinos Juniors, Club Atlético Independiente and Club Atlético Huracán.
As a head coach he had his first experiences in Argentina, precisely in Club Atlético Talleres, team in which his began his career in football soccer. His career was developed mainly in México, where he coach Neza FC, Monarcas Morelia, Club Deportivo Guadalajara, Dorados de Sinaloa, Atlético San Luis and Cafetaleros de Tapachula.  
From 94 to 96 he defended the colors of Club Atlético Independiente, having an outstanding participation and being champion of the Supercopa and Recopa Sudamericana.
As a sporting director he was the sports director of Club Atlético Universitario (Córdoba) in 2001, team that was playing in the Argentinos B tournament; And of Club Atlético Belgrano from 2002 to 2005 disputing the tournaments of the Nacional B. As a coach After his career as a player, in 2000 Bustos began his career as Coach in his native country in the youth league of Talleres de Córdoba, being champion in both tournaments with the 6th category of the Asociación Cordobesa de Fútbol. For 2005, he was named head coach of his first professional team, being this Sportivo Belgrano de San Francisco, Argentina, with which he disputed the tournament Federal B. In 2007, he arrived to Atlas de Guadalajara of the Mexican soccer, for be assistant coach of Tomás Boy. After this season, he returned to Argentina again to the Club Atlético Talleres, where he was coach of the 4th category of A.F.A., eventually being the interim head coach of the first team. Subsequently, in restructuring the club he remained as assistant coach of the first division in the processes of Humberto Grondona and Juan Amador Sánchez. In 2009 he is again requested by Tomas Boy to form his coaching staff, this time in Monarcas Morelia, team in which they were until the end of the tournament closure 2012, qualifying 5 playoffs, being sub-champions of the LIGA MX in 2011 and being champions of the SuperLiga Norteamericana 2010. For the opening of 2012 he gets his first opportunity at the head of a coaching staff in Mexico's professional soccer, coaching Neza FC in the ASCENSO MX, qualifying to the playoffs and the semifinal of the COPA MX. For the 7th game of closing tournament in 2013, he was requested by Monarcas Morelia to be the head coach after Ruben Omar Romano was fired.In this season, he had an unbeaten streak from his first game to the first game in playoffs, finished in 4th general place. In the next season, he qualifield again the team to the playoffs, being the 6th general place. For this same tournament, on November 5 was champion of the Copa México Apertura 2013, disputing this title with the Atlas of Guadalajara, giving Monarcas Morelia his first title of COPA MX and his second official title in the Mexican soccer. For the opening tournament 2014 arrived to Club Deportivo Guadalajara, one of the most important teams and with more history of Mexican soccer, achieving to reach the quarterfinals of the COPA MX. Later, for the closing of 2015, Dorados de Sinaloa is made of his services to lead the team in the ASCENSO MX, tournament in which he obtains the title of Champion against Atlético San Luis playing as a visitor. With this title Dorados de Sinaloa is able to dispute the final against the Champion of the opening 2014 in search of the ascent. On May 23, Bustos and Dorados de Sinaloa defeated Necaxa, playing as a visitor, achieving the promotion and returning the team to the first division of Mexican soccer after a nine-year absence. In the closing 2016 is hired by Atletico San Luis of the league of ASCENSO MX, achieving with this team reach the semifinals of COPA MX.
