José Luis Brown (born 10 November 1956) is an Argentine retired footballer who played as a central defender, and is a coach. Most of his 14-year professional career was spent with Estudiantes, for which he appeared in more than 300 official matches and won two major titles. He also competed professionally in Colombia, France and Spain. Nicknamed Tata, Brown represented the Argentine national team at the 1986 World Cup and three Copa América tournaments, winning the former and scoring in the final. In 1995, he began working as a manager.
