Meetings, weddings and group stays
The hotel gives over its whole second floor to events, names each room, and keeps the capacities to itself. Here is what is published and how to ask for a block of rooms.
The spaces
Suited, the hotel says, to gala dinners, large presentations and weddings thanks to its size and high ceilings; it divides into two rooms plus a pre-function area.
Natural tones and natural light, retractable walls to resize the room, block-out blinds for projection, lighting modes from presentation to dancing. Each section has its own foyer for registration.
Natural light, an in-built bar and its own restrooms; used for lunches, dinners, cocktail parties and as a breakout room.
A fixed boardroom, also suggested as a secretariat room during conferences.
Natural light, used for pre-dinner canapés and cocktails; pairs with the Urchins foyers as a pre-function space.
For smaller to medium functions, with its own restrooms.
Buffets and food stations in the open air, with views across Trinity Inlet to Mount Yarrabah and the Nisbet Range.
Capacities
The hotel's events page does not give capacities for individual rooms. Accor's listing says the hotel has 10 meeting rooms with a maximum of 400 seated or 450 for a banquet; the same page elsewhere mentions hosting up to 350 guests. Treat those as outer limits and ask the events team for the figure for your layout. BAR36 takes private functions of up to 80, and Tamarind's private dining room seats 24.
Weddings
The hotel offers wedding packages with a personal wedding coordinator, a ceremony deck, and receptions styled — in its words — with low lighting, chiffon draping, fairy lights and candles. A wedding kit can be downloaded from its weddings page, and an enquiry form asks for dates and theme. Package contents and prices are not published.
Support and catering
Each event gets a dedicated event coordinator, and a banquets manager is on hand on the day. Catering is described as built on local produce. The events team is on [email protected] and +61 7 4030 8798. Every function room is reachable by lift, and there is a chair hoist for stages.
Rooms for your group
Function bookings go to the hotel's events team directly — we do not broker venue hire. What our desk can do is collect the room side: how many rooms, which categories, which nights, and who is paying for what. Put the head count, the event and the room mix in the trip notes of the request form. We check availability with the hotel or a booking partner and come back with what is possible before anyone commits.
Twelve room categories make mixed groups easier: Junior Twin Suites for families, Superior Twins for colleagues sharing, a water-view suite for the couple or the speaker.
