Privacy notice

We collect only what a room request needs, use it only to answer that request, and share it only with the hotel or booking partner that can fill it.

Who we are

The Cairns Casino Hotel Logbook (futbolasta.com) is an independent publisher with a room request desk. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), whether or not the Act applies to a business of our size. What we collect

• From the request form: your name, email, phone number if you give one, number of guests, dates, preferred room, your trip notes, your consent, the page you sent it from and the kind of form. We do not ask for card details, ID numbers or dates of birth.
• Technical data: our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) for security and to fix errors. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

Why we use it

To answer your request: to check availability and rates, to email or call you about it, and to keep a record of what we promised. We do not send newsletters or marketing unless you ask for them separately, and we do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

Only with the hotel's reservations team or the booking partner that checks or completes your stay, and only what they need for it. Our hosting provider (DigitalOcean, servers in Sydney) and our email provider process data on our behalf. Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia; we take reasonable steps under APP 8 to make sure they protect it.

Google Maps

The getting-here page shows an embedded Google map, and the front page offers one on request. When a Google map loads, Google receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies under its own privacy policy. On the front page the map loads only after you press the button. Links marked "Open in Google Maps" take you to Google's site.

Cookies

This site itself sets no cookies. The only cookies you may receive come from Google when a map loads.

How long we keep it

Requests that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Records linked to a confirmed booking are kept for as long as we need them to deal with questions and to meet tax and accounting obligations, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, the form sends data only to our own server, and access to requests is limited to the people who answer them.

Changes

If we change this notice, the date at the top changes too.
